                          used to identify whether a woman’s cervical dilation and descent are progressing at the
                         expected rate. The symbol for station (X), which represents descent, may be added to the
                          labor curve. Typical labor curves for a multiparous woman and a nulliparous woman are
                                              illustrated for comparison of patterns.
