Message from the Principal
Dear parents and students,
“The future of the planet concerns all of us, and all of us should do what we can to protect it. As I told
the foresters and the women, you don’t need a diploma to plant a tree.”
Wangari Maathai, Nobel Laureate, Kenian Environmental Activist.
It gives me great pleasure to bring to you the first E-edition of the annual school magazine
“Reminisce 2017”. A report in December 2015 stated that approximately 3 to 6 billion trees are cut
down every year and many of them are cut to make paper. This e-magazine is an effort to reduce
deforestation, promote afforestation, reduce use of paper in our school (saving approximately
18,00,000 sheets!!!) and encourage digital literacy.
2016-17 has been a remarkable year for all of us. From adding on to our infrastructure in terms of a
sophisticated tennis court to a brilliantly conceptualised Early Childhood building, winning
numerous accolades, we have indeed surpassed our own earlier performance. This magazine
showcases our triumphs and tribulations, day to day activities, special events, trips and travels. It
also throws light on our workshops and seminars, our engagement with the community (local &
global), our commitment to the environment and society, our success stories (individual and
collective) and above all the love and warmth that defines DPS Bangalore North.
So relax, pick up your mobile device, tablet or sit at your Mac PC or desktop and flip through this
memoir of a year that was filled with dreams and opportunities.
“With every experience, you alone are painting your own canvas, thought by thought, choice by
choice” Oprah Winfrey, American talk-show host, Philanthropist.
