ARITHMETIC MEAN
If a, b, c are three consecutive ternts in an arithmetic sequcnce, then b is the arithmetic
mean of a and c where

14 and l8 are two arithmetic means between l0 and 22
(b) Consider the sequence lO
,12 , 14, 16 Ig , 20

12, 14, 16,18 and 20 are five arithmetic means between l0 and 22
Iixample I : Find the arithmeri c mean between 3 and 25
Example 2: Find four arithmctic means that lies between 3 and 23.
