Emotion Regulation FEEL YOUR FEELINGS
Feel Your Feelings (FYF)—Be aware of feelings to not stuff or stick to them STUFFING<-----Feel Your Feelings ----- >STICKING
Stuffing means bottling-up, ignoring, or hiding my feelings
 PRO—don’t have to feel what you’re feeling
 CON—can lead to outbursts or blowups
Sticking means holding onto feelings or trying to keep them around by replaying
 PRO—self-validating
 CON—can lead to suffering because they don’t fade away
Do I tend to be a feeling stuffer or a feeling sticker? What tells me this?
Feeling Your Feelings is NOT:
 Stuffing uncomfortable feelings
 Sticking to uncomfortable feelings
Feeling Your Feelings IS:
 Paying attention & noticing them (OBS OM)
 Letting them come & go naturally
 Experiencing uncomfortable feelings without clinging to them (NJS)
