 Micrometal has acquired Scandinavian etching company HP Etch
E ec ve November 20, 2017, Micrometal GmbH has acquired and taken over opera ons of the Swedish company HP Etch AB.
HP Etch, based in Järfälla near Stockholm, is the expert for high precision etching of stencils, EMC-shielding products and parts in thin metallic materials. With 40 employees, HP Etch currently serves the Scandinavian market, especially the medical, electrical, prin ng and energy sectors. HP Etch also owns ParaTech coa ng Scandinavia AB, a specialist supplier of hydrophobic coa ngs (known as polymer  lm or parylene).
Micrometal manufactures customized, highly accurate etched components. The produc on facili es are located at the border triangle Germany, France and Switzerland. Micrometal is a subsidiary of Wickeder Wes alenstahl GmbH, a leading producer of clad metal.
With this acquisi on, Micrometal is expanding its technology por olio to be er meet customer needs for current mar- ket and development requirements. In addi on to our con nuous strip etching (“Reel-to-Reel Etching”) for very high volume products, the acquisi on of HP Etch enables Micrometal to o er high-precision etched products in smaller and mid-size batches (“Sheet Etching”).
