Na onal Poison Preven on Week occurs each year during the third full week of March. In 2018, this
was March 18‐24.

Although there is a Na onal Poison Preven on Week theme, the West Virginia Poison Center selects a
theme based on items of special importance in West Virginia.

For Na onal Poison
Preven on Week the
WVPC focused on the
importance of calling the
WVPC before searching
online or rushing to the
hospital. We distributed
a flyer with a QR code to
save the WVPC number
in a cell phone. We also
used videos of our staff
offering poison ps.
The Community
Outreach Coordinator,
our volunteers, and our
community partners
provide as many
programs throughout the
state as possible.
