Advent of course is a perfect time to engage in that particular spiritual discipline! This is a
time of unprecedented generosity of spirit and good cheer, so it makes sense to begin inten-
tionally working on our expressions of kindness. In the coming days and starting on the first
Sunday in Advent, we have created a new kind of Advent Calendar for you! Shannon has
done a great job putting it together and she calls it the: “Advent Kindness Calendar.” I think
that’s super! Each day you will find listed a different act of kindness to perform as we make
our way to the coming of the Christ child into the world. It is the perfect way to not only

practice kindness, but to also exemplify the very love that God gave us in the gift of Jesus’
birth. Our hope is that you find it transformative personally, but like the Galatians that it
transforms our entire church! What an amazing Christmas gift—to see the actual transfor-
mation of our church to be a true
reflection of God’s love to one an-
other, to our families and to the

whole world!!

I am very excited about this Advent
Calendar!! I think Shannon did a
great job on it and I ask you to join
me as a, pre-Advent calendar exer-
cise, to thank her for her work and
all that she does throughout the

year!

You will be able to pick up a copy of
the calendar in the narthex at
church, but for those of you who are
following Trinity Lutheran on Face-
book, Shannon will be posting the

‘act of kindness’ each day. I look
forward to seeing the amazing
transformation as we walk together
to the day of Christ’s birth!
