English for Tourism & Hospitality (102) by Prof. Adel AlSheikh
Is it's 'it is',' it has' or 'its'?
A lot of people have trouble knowing when to
use its and when to use it's. It's is a contraction for
it is or it has. Its is a possessive pronoun meaning
of it or belonging to it. If you aren't sure which
one to use, try replacing it with it is. If that makes
sense, use it's. If not, try replacing it with her or
his. If that makes sense, then use its.
Choose the correct word for the blank space
in each sentence.
