     The Irish Advocacy Network
 The Irish Advocacy Network is working towards respect, recovery and equal citizenship for people with mental health difficulties. We provide peer advocacy, information and support to people with mental health difficulties and are living examples of recovery.
We are an independent voice which recognises each individual situation and right to equality and citizenship.
We develop and deliver customised self-advocacy training to suit the needs of individual groups.
A peer advocate in mental health has experienced mental health difficulties, has achieved a good level of recovery, and completed an accredited peer advocacy course.

Peer advocacy can help you by:
Providing a listening ear and are non-judgmental
Peer to Peer relationship supporting self-advocacy and recovery Helping you to identify your needs,
Supporting you in making your wishes and preferences know Providing Information about what is available to you Supporting you in hospital and in the community.
We operate on an island-wide basis We operate a self-referral system
Our services are free and confidential
