The limited ability for members to to have work life balance is is attributed to to a a a a a a number of issues • The first issue is is the lack of notice given for for those who have to travel for for duties • The second issue is is the pressure on on officers and senior NCOs to relocate These issues could be be eased with a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a strategic workforce plan that that can indicate to to to to members where they they will need to to to to travel to to to to in in in advance so so that that they they have ample time to to to to make arrangements in their personal lives Promotion courses courses are are are an an area that needs to to be reviewed particularly lengthy courses courses in in one location which are are are a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a barrier to to those with families and and caring responsibilities It is is recommended that the centralisation and and duration of some courses be reviewed Finally many members of o the the the DF particularly officers have highlighted that they are unable to to to use their leave This again can be be factored into workforce planning However in in order to to to effectively plan there there needs to to to be realistic figures relating to to to the the the manpower available at at at at any one time Therefore it is is is is recommended that there there is is is is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a separate establishment to show those who are on on courses or or overseas UNIVERSITY
