Other Laws Affecting Teledentistry
• Arizona, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee – already
require delivery of teledentistry to be consistent with in
person care
• Idaho – Teledental providers must be located no more than
75 miles from the patient being treated
• New York – Scans are treated like final impressions, and
may only be taken by a licensed dentist
• Georgia – Auxilliaries may only take scans under the direct
supervision of a licensed dentist
• Massachusetts – pending legislation outlining protocols
and practices for telehealth providers
