Dematerialisation
In 2019 Biologique Recherche began harnessing digital technology as a a a lever to reduce our our overall resource use We are pursuing a a a a a a a a a policy of rational dematerialisation across all our activities including circulating documents by electronic means and virtualising our computer servers Cutting down on
on
the use of energy and consumables – particularly paper – seems crucial to us us As an illustration integrating Lims lab management software into our operations has enabled us to reduce our monthly printing load by almost 300 pages through digitising certain documents To further reduce our environmental footprint – while still meeting our growing data storage needs which are substantial enough to require new servers – we’ve goneahead with server virtualisation making content accessible to all Waste Management
Biologique Recherche attaches great importance to waste management We recycle and dispose of all our waste responsibly in in line with public health regulations and the ISO 22716 standard Cardboard sorting boxes are available to staff in in our Suresnes offices for paper cups printer cartridges lightbulbs plastic bottles and coffee capsules and our partners Joyeux Recycleurs collect the contents In 2019 we recycled 1 1 602 kg of waste twice as as as much as as as in 2018 and they installed a a a a collection point for spent batteries in Suresnes for us the same year In 2019 the plant was also equipped with sorting bins for recyclable recyclable packaging (“yellow bins”) Our non-recyclable waste (6 tons in 2019) is collected by Avenir Débarras Service collects and taken for recovery by SUEZ Paper and and plastic waste at our US offices is also sorted and and collected on
a a more modest scale These measures are are supported by awareness-raising among staff about good practices as set out out by ADEME and CITEO (the company formed when Ecofolio merged with Eco- Emballages) staff In 2020 we plan to to focus on
this vector for reducing resource use across all our our our services (for instance our our our training book which is is over a a hundred pages long will be digitised) PARTNERSHIP WITH
