Liubov Khitkova
I live in Russia, in the ancient city of Rybinsk. I
studied drawing first at the children’s art school,
and then at the pedagogical university at the
art-graphic faculty. For many years I taught fine
art to children. A few years after the birth of my
children, I left teaching, I had the time for my own
creativity.
I liked painting and work with threads (tapestry,
embroidery, macramé, knitting). Once I tried to
make a painting work not with paints, but with
threads. It turned out very unusual, like
impressionism, but warmer. It turned out very
unusual, like impressionism, but warmer. The first
works were more decorative. They did not have
many shades of colour. Now I use hundreds of
different shades of thread to realistically portray
the world around me.
My first solo exhibition was held in 2006 in my
hometown. Since that time, I have had about 20
solo exhibitions in Russia, France, and Egypt. I have
diplomas of 1,2,3 degrees in international art
competitions held in Russia, Italy, Cyprus, Japan,
the USA. After the contest in New York, I got a
special gold medal of achievement.
