project that he used to address me as Berillyium Srinivasan. He
maintained regular contact with me even after he retired from

Atomic Energy and he headed National Academy of Sciences
till he passed away.Even after I left DAE to join my parent
department Sri.C.V.Sundaram, now Project
Director,IGCAR,Kalpakkam remembered me and invited me to
attend the inauguration of the Fast Breeder Test Reactor by the
then Prime Minister, Sri.Rajiv Gandhi.

Towards the end of 1977 I felt a compelling need for going
down south so as to be of help to assist in the family’s effort to
marry off my sister .Meanwhile in October,1977 my wife and
daughter left for my wife’s native place as my wife was
carrying a child. I waited till my boss Sri.M.Panchappa secured
a reliever so that I could hand over my charge to the other
officer and proceed on transfer. The post to which I got
transferred was Chief Administrative Officer a post equivalent
to Deputy Secretary in Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic
Research..By the time I reached Madras my uncle ailing for
some months passed away in a hospital. At about same time on

9 December 1977 my wife gave birth to a male child. I rushed
to Mannargudi and was present at the naming ceremony, My
father in law suggested that the baby boy might be given the
name of consort of Sri.Mahalakshmi ,that is, Srikant.

After a period of 3 months my wife returned to our quarters in
Kalpakkam .My daughter started attending the primary school.
The School was running on CBSE Syllabus . My wife had

assistance managing household. Sri.Ramachandran working as
Extra departmental messenger visited my quarters and brought
