Josh Walker was one of the 2018 recipients of the “Mariner Achievement Award”.
As a rookie on the premier team he managed to put up some impressive numbers. Walker
collected 43 hits including 7 doubles for a 323 batting average and finished fourth in the
league with 28 RBI, he would add 8 more RBI in the 2018 play off round. Along with
finishing in the league top 10 with 14 stolen bases Walker caught the eye of scouts and
was selected to play for team B.C. in the Canada cup Tournament in Moncton, New
Brunswick. A strong showing in Moncton earned Walker a spot on the team Canada roster
and it was off to participate in the T-12 Tournament in Toronto. Walker finished the
                                     tournament with a .500 BA a .625 OBP and a .667 slugging%. Later that month he
travelled to Orlando, Florida with team Canada and continues to impress scouts all over
                                     North America.

Jon Gale took home the hardware at the Mariners 2018 Awards night.
Rarely is one player the recipient of multiple awards but Gale was selected to receive three
of the most prestigious honors, Top Batter, Top Defensive Player and M.V.P.
Gale’s performance in 2018 was remarkable, he finished 2nd in the league in batting with
a .391 AVG including 11 doubles and 3 triples. He also managed to record 26 RBI,
impressive for a lead off batter. Gale lead the league in “walks to strike out ratio” with 36
BB and a mere 5 strike outs in 138 at bats. He would also finish 2nd in the league with
stolen bases at 19. Along with the offense Gale was just as effective on defense catching
263 innings in 46 games recording 176 put outs and 22 assists, shutting down opponents
                                     running game early and often.
