4. MIMI Results for Chris Hani District Municipality
4.1 Construct A: Enablers of innovation
This section presents results for Construct A of MIMI: Municipal Enablers for Innovation. Table 2 displays the scores for Construct A for Chris Hani District Municipality in comparison to the national average. As indicated, the average score for Chris Hani District Municipality in Construct A was 2, which was similar to the national average in this construct. Notably, the municipality had lowest score in staff incentives for innovation. Furthermore, the municipality scored 2 in physical and human resources for innovation. In contrast, the municipality scored higher in 2 items: political support for innovation and community participation, getting a score of 5 in both items.

This section presents results for Construct B of MIMI: Management Support for Innovation. Table 3 displays the scores for Construct B for Chris Hani District Municipality in comparison to the national average. The municipality scored 2 in openness to new ideas, understanding of innovation processes, support for testing innovations, and communication by management for innovation.
