a proud achievement
for JHC - OBA London
he above magnetic phrase from our College anthem always rhymes loud and
Tclear in the hearts and minds of every student who embarked from the portals
of our hallowed seat of learning - not only learning literacy and numeracy but also
discipline and character to face the global challenges of the future and to evolve
themselves into perfect humans.
The prophetic sentiments expressed in the above couplets are as true now, as they were
visualised almost a century ago. Our community has undergone untold hardship and
misery the result of which saw the dispersal of our people to almost all the nooks and V. Sivasupramaniam
corners of the world. Yet, none of them has forgotten their roots and the associated Old Boy

The alumni of Jaffna Hindu is no exception to this phenomena and they have
successfully organised old boys associations from the USA and Canada on one side to
Australia on the other side.
Our community has
It is to be recalled with pride and pleasure that the pioneers were the old boys in undergone untold
London who had the vision to organise the first OBA outside our shores in the year hardship and misery the
result of which saw the
1987 and we should recall with gratitude the efforts, the services and the storms they dispersal of our people
faced - specially the senior members and people like the late T. S. Perinbanayagam. to almost all the nooks
and corners of the
world
It is in the fitness of things to have the celebrations on a grand scale as it gives a sense
of achievement and success that they have fulfilled the dreams of the founders in a
meaningful way not only to the school community but also to the wider and the
vulnerable sections of our community.
A lot of credit is due to the London OBA in funding a number projects for the student
community of our college - provision of furniture, hostel expansion, playground
extension, acquisition of the quarters for the Principal and the donation of a bus - just
to mention a few. It is appropriate to mention that our college that started with 6 1/2
lacks of land in 1890 is now expanded to 105 lacks of land area.
In addition to the provision of a number of scholarships, plans are afoot to meet
the requirements of the needy and the vulnerable sections in the affected areas -
the current one being the “ Mahadeva Padipaham “ in memory of our respected
Mathematics and Chemistry teacher, the late A.Mahadeva. Such noble ventures should
