 Campus Ministry
Captures Brothers’
Attention
Service is the focus
for the student body
The silence was unusual in the gym — especially since there were over three hundred and fifty students seated there. Father Daniel O’Brien of LeMoyne College rose to speak. Clad in liturgical colors, he addressed the students and faculty on the New Testament readings which had just been proclaimed.
Approximately four times a year, the CBA community gathers together in the gym to offer public worship. The Mass of the Holy Spirit opens the school year and the Ascension Thursday liturgy closes it. As a Christian school, CBA offers its students the opportunity to reflect on values which transcend the classroom.
This function comes under the responsibility of Brother Gabriel Fiumano, Director of Campus Ministry and Mr. Frank Sacco, Chairman of the Religion Department. They work together to plan the liturgies, coordinate food drives and mission collections, and provide opportunities for the students and faculty to bring an active role to their faith. By way of explanation. Brother Gabriel observed: “ Cam pus Ministry seeks to bring about an atmosphere of mutual concern and an awareness of the needs of others.”
