the effort that the two coordinators put into it. The classes met once a week, mostly during study halls, and the facul ty was encouraged to “ peek in” .
“Art is personal” was the theme the staff hoped to convey. For the students, it was an aesthetic appreciation of art in which the students themselves chose what ap pealed to them — feeling and accepting art as its own end. The purpose, according to Mrs. Uva was not to teach but to enable the students to appreciate art. It was clear by year’s end that these goals had been achieved.
