Often competition is viewed as an athletic endeavor alone. Attention is often focused at CBA on the court or field but this hardly means that Olympic effort is restricted solely to those two areas. Forensics and Math League as well as Yearbook enter into competitive situations in the hopes of improving their performance and being better than other area schools.
In addition, though not competitive in a similar manner, other activities such as Student Senate, Booster Club, Sacco Singers and the Purple and Gold seek to make CBA a better place. After all, isn’t that what competition is all about? Thus, one isn’t surprised to see CBA extra curricular activities often in the news.
Thus, while Ronald Reagan’s announcement of his can didacy for a second term occupied the attention of most central New Yorkers, it wasn’t surprising that more than a few of last year’s seniors stopped by to check on how the Yearbook did at the CSSPA Convention or to help judge a Forensics tournament. It simply points out that being the best is what CBA is all about.
