 Problems Plague

Dedicated Staff

Impossible as it sounds, Yearbooks can be completed even when its two moderators have other responsibilities, its editor is busy with a part time job, and no one knew how to do layout for the first month of school. Even with the usual August head start on the theme, the book was constantly playing catch-up as Brother Richard Gray faced his daily responsibility for proctoring detention and Mr. Roy Dado attempted to divide his time between Year book, Student Senate and Senior Class Officers. Mean while, Editor Dave DeLorenzo searched for a Layout Editor and could not find one until well into September. Fortunately, Senior, Don Voce arrived on the scene and
ably filled the position; while Jeff Bachstein assumed the Assistant Editor’s job.
The first deadline came and went while Assistant Edi
tors Stuart LaRose and Lewis Kapell frantically looked for candids and underclass pictures which always seemed to be missing at crucial times. Senior Editors Chris Chudzik, Pat Cahili, and John Fritelli nearly went blind as they tried to write and proofread captions — often at the same time.
Lost articles — notably Tennis and Booster Club — managed to complicate matters as the staff barely met its second and third deadline. Spring Sports — which seemed to constantly haunt the group — finally went to the Printers as the book came down to the wire.
In spite of battles over cliche captions and even more cliche headlines, the Editors and staff finally met the last February deadline — only to be left nervously awaiting the final product.
