Well, Washington got destroyed by Los Angeles in the Super Bowl and poor LA didn’t even get a parade. Their experience certainly did not come close to that of CBA sports. No cash prize was involved and no media attention was attracted (unless you count Channel 13 on cable) and yet the CBA fans outdid their LA counterparts in showing their appreciation for their teams. Item: The CBA gym was filled to capacity for Varsity Basketball’s romp over Lud-
den. Item: Griffin Stadium was packed for the showdown with Utica-Notre Dame. Item: Track and Cross Country witnessed a large turnout of new recruits. In short, CBA athletics was healthy and going strong.
It didn’t matter whether the season produced a league title or was a losing one — just so long as they strove for the gold. And they did. From novice level through varsity competition, the Brothers proved their Olympic quality in contest after contest. It was not surprising then, that win or lose, CBA was always the team the other guy had to beat.
