CROSS COUNTRY Team Earns Rank 10 In Class B
As the season started, things did not look good for the Broth ers’ cross country team. The de parture of three seniors from the five man team of 1987 left a gap that was hard to fill. Despite this, the team managed a 5-4 record, which was reasonable given their expectations. A tenth place in sec tion B was also something to be proud of.
The team was led by sopho more Justin Vianese, and was helped by Brian Riley’s great leadership and sense of humor. Consistent performances by Tim Gaughan and Matt Marnett also helped pace the team. Pete Cuen ca’s performance was hampered at the end of the season by bron

chitis, which hurt the squad. The JV team showed steady
improvement throughout the sea son. Runners Dana Stewart, Bo Bigelow, and Jason and Jeremy Bialek will be a welcome addition to the varsity squad next year. The
Junior High team was quite suc cessful as well, with Matt Dem- line and Tony Lewis running strong races for the Brothers.
As a special note, Tracy Eisen- hart ran for the CBA girls, and put together a great season, finishing in the top ten in several big invita- tionals, and finishing 20th in the league, despite the fact that she was the only member of the team. Her willpower and stick-to-itive- ness are to be commended.
