 Red or White? Italy ’98
Last April twenty juniors and seniors embarked on a trip that will forever be etched in our minds. We were very fortunate to be some of the juniors on a trip that was “hands down” the best ex perience of our lives. The moder ators of the trip, Ms. McGinty and her mother, definitely put together a great trip for all of us.
We began our venture in Venice where we saw glass making, went to a discotheque, and took rides on gondolas. Our next stop was in the town of Bologna for Easter Mass. We learned quickly that an Italian Mass is much different then what we are accustomed to. Flor ence, our third city, was rich with historical art. We saw the David, by Michelangelo, along with many
other great works. Our money went fast in Florence as we shopped in the world famous leather and gold markets. Rome was our final destination. We tour- ned the Vatican, the Roman Col osseum, and the Sistine Chapel. The Chapel was, by far, the most exquisite and breathtaking sight on the entire trip. We hope that the legend of the Trevi Fountain is true; all who throw change in over their left shoulder will return to
Rome again one day.
We are sure we can speak for
everyone when we say that the trip was the most memorable experi ence of our lives, so far. ..
