During Opening Mass the cho rus sings with enthu
siasm displaying their strong Christian faith.
Although many speeches are given during liturgies, prayers can also be expressed through song. Here Alicia Light captivates the assem bly with a solo of “Veni Sancte Spiritus”.
Pride and Commitment
On September 23, 1998 we held our opening liturgy to unite the CBA community for another exciting year. The cel ebrant of the liturgy was Holy Family’s Father Paul Angelec- chio.
The senior class showed leadership and initiative in uniting the school by presenting the gifts and carrying the banners to the altar. Other students contributed to the liturgy by being Eucharistic Ministers. Throughout the week, the student body contributed food to St. Lucy’s pantry and money to Holy Fam ily Elementary school that experienced damage caused by the Labor Day Storm. We collected six hundred dollars for Holy Family, which was presented to Father Angelecchio at the conclusion of the liturgy.
Before the mass ended Brother Michael led the annual commissioning of the senior class. The seniors faced the seventh graders and promised that they would be their role models and the leaders of the school. The liturgy brought the school together by showing our pride and commitment to our community and school, starting this year off on the right foot.
