Trip to Spain — '96
La Macarena and Bull Fights
The majority of us who went to Spain agreed that the trip to Spain
was the trip of a lifetime.
In Maloga, we sampled many popular Spanish dishes and went to
the local dicotecas; two of us even braved the chilly waters of the Med
iterranean Sea. At the discotecas, we learned "La Macarena" before it
even became the latest American dance craze! We soaked up some sun
shine and relaxed to Spanish music, before packing everything onto a
bus and making our way north to Sevilla.
A day in Sevilla quickly became the most incredible part of the trip.
There, we started the day with a tour of the "Patriarcal Iglesia Cathedral
De Sevilla", and attended a bull fight featuring some of the best mata
dors in Spain. We ended the day at "La Feria de Abril", a huge festival
organized to celebrate a Spanish dance called "Flamenco". There was
great music, food, and dancing.
After eight days of shopping, eating, sight-seeing, and dancing, we
tearfully waved goodbye to Spain and our beloved tour guide, Tom.
We will never forget those eight days and the people we spent them
with.
Madrid must have been
full of fun and excite
ment, because all you
can see on these faces
are smiles of delight.
