how people fight in their re lationships. Father Villegas represented a husband, and Mrs. Bigelow pretended to be his wife. The husband argued that it didn’t matter where he threw his keys, and Mrs. Bi gelow ordered him to place them in a drawer. The heat and tension of the argument in creased rapidly while the stu dents wondered about the sit uation. Then Father Villegas stopped for a moment and ex plained that neither Mrs. Bi gelow nor himself had won the
fight, the keys had.
Father Juan explained that
in a relationship, all parties must strive to make it work out. He said that if one just does not fight back, the ar gument can not escalate. With this he showed us how he and Mrs. Bigelow should have han dled the potential fight. Father Juan succeeded in giving us a lesson that will last a lifetime andhediditinsuchawaythat people really listened and learned.
o mark the beginning f of a new school year, C.B.A. held its first lit urgy mass on Thursday, Sep tember 19,1991. The mass itself was very much like a regular mass in a church, with one ex ception. Father Juan Villegas, S.J. had come to direct us in
our worship.
The turning point in the mass
was the Homily. Most students
expected to hear Father Vil legas say the usual sermon, which would consist of talking about how we should all try our best to be God-like. When he asked for a volunteer to come up to the alter, the majority of the student body felt bewil dered. Mrs. Brenda Bigelow eagerly made her way up to where the priest was.
