BE AWARE
Drug and Alcohol Week
The week of December 13th, 1999 was packed full of activities aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol here at CBA. The Dewitt Police Depart ment brought "Fatal Vision" goggles to the lunch periods to show how difficult it is to function at a high intoxication level. A graphic drunk driving slide show presented by the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department helped raise awareness for the senior and junior classes. The junior high students were treated to a demonstration by the K9 unit of the Sheriff's Department as well. Unfortunately the activities planned for the 9th and 10th graders had to be canceled at the last minute. The week ended with a school wide assembly moderated by Mr. Don Barrett. Each speaker tried to convey a particular message about the dangers of drinking and drugs from their own personal experiences. Congratulations to the SOS members and senior Zachry Barber who made the week a success!

Andrea Lazipone gives the "Fatal Vision" goggles a try. She seems to have the hang of it but where will her next step take her?
The SOS group was able to obtain this car showing the effects of a drunk driving accident. It served as a reminder to the CBA community during all of Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week.
