Hardback Cafe
Studying In The Cafeteria
Of all the environments least likely to
yield beneficial results, the cafeteria
remained the students’ choice for an
arena of incomplete assignments. Ju­
niors scrambled helplessly to complete
excessive history papers. Freshmen
tried to complete Earth Science labs
which placed rocks as the answer to
the question of existence. Sophomores,
deprived of all but one study hall, were
faced with the prospect of actually do­
ing homework at home. Seniors, placed
with a plethora of deadlines and essays
used the cafeteria as intended: to eat
lunch! After all, why should the cafete­
ria not be used as a place to have done
homework? It was a much more invit­
ing place to work compared with the
cold floors and ambiance of the hallway
and the monotonous drone of the li­

While taking time off from their studies, Joe Kos-
turik, Shawn Hanrahan. and Jaime Howell pose for
the cameras. They look so happy because not only is
it their free period but also school is almost over!
Writing papers for Mr. Manning’s Government class
is a delight for all his students. Kristen Kinney doesn’t
think so, as she struggles to type and print out her
paper before the bell rings.
