Breaking Traditions!
Senior Girls Establish A Record
■ ■Vi
,-’S'* -
Around September 3, 1987, the news
broke. The Franciscan Academy, affec
tionately known as TFA by her stu
dents, would be closing, and CBA was
thinking about admitting girls into its
hallowed halls. All watched with curios
ity and anticipation. Yes, finally, CBA
would open its doors to the first girls to
walk those corridors as students. We
would have the boys looking at us.
Come to school with hair undone? Per
ish the thought! And as was witnessed
by the first day of school, the girls
went to school in style. The malls
around Syracuse must have been
bought out. Daddy’s credit cards
looked like the national debt.
The first day went by, and I don’t
know about the rest of you, but no mir
acle happened. The girls didn’t go
hoopla over the boys, and, as far as I
could see, they didn’t go bananas over
us either. That was four years ago. Now
CBA is graduating the first girls to go
through the entire four years of high
school and survive. Don’t we feel spe
cial?
Well CBA, thank you for allowing us
girls to grace the halls of your school
and for giving us an education we can
