Varsity Tennis Serves Up Victory
1982 was another great year for the Brothers’ Varsi
ty Tennis Team. Under the direction of Coach, Gary
Barnaba, the team finished with an overall record of 15
and 4 and a league record of 6 and 1. Although the
Racqueteers failed to capture their seventh consecu

due to
a 3-2
loss over
arch rival, Auburn — the Brothers were able to domi
nate playoff action through the exciting performance of
Singles player, Eric Weinheimer and Doubles team. Bill
Bergan and Chris Chudzik.
Weinheimer went on to play in the state champion
ships in Albany; while the Doubles squad of Marc Bern
stein and Mike Freyer helped spur the Varsity team to
third place in Section III competition. In addition. Second
Singles Mike Geiss finished the season with a first place
showing in the Cities League Tournament.
