Brothers slugger, Tim Kelly shows his form which haunted opposing pitchers throughout the year
Amid diving catches and cracking sounds of
bats in action, first year coach Kevin Conroy and
his Junior Varsity cohorts commenced their league
campaign. Inspired by captain Bob Walsh, the
Brothers battled to an even seven and seven re
cord.
Fireballer, Dave Krause and crafty, Tim Kelly
left the opponents shaky and bewildered. Fielders
Scott Callahan, Matt Giblin, Pete Taylor and
Ken Sharkey, provided for a stiff defense to back
the hurlers.
The J.V. season was highlighted by their dra
matic come-from-behind victory over arch-rival
Bishop Ludden. Down 6-2 the Brothers rallied for
three runs to pull within one. In the top of the sixth,
the Brothers were faced with two outs and two
men on. Shortstop, Scott Callahan responded
with a double, scoring both runners. In the seventh,
the Brothers added five more runs to secure a
decisive 12-6 victory over the Gaelic Knights.
A solid potential for Varsity coach, Tom Dot-
terer was indicated by the J.V. performance this
season.
