Racing Billy Owens gives extra effort for win against Watertown.
dent that their previous day’s victory against the Notting-
hann Bulldogs would be repeated against the Brothers.
They see-sawed throughout the contest as high jumper,
Andrew B. Nye prepared for his four jumps. The tension
was evident as the jumpers became aware that the
meet’s outcome depended on a single jump. Nye’s suc
cessful completion of 6’1” put the team over the top. In
addition to Nye’s jump, Junior Jeff Jurick’s 4:30 win in
the mile and Jamie Beeks’ victory in the 440 yard hurdle
were the highlights of the meet.
It was, in a way, almost anticlimatic for the team went
on to share a tri-championship of the CNYCL and a 9-1
over-all record.
