A refreshing new image was produced by the CBA
sprinters, under the direction of coaches Ken Heinrich
and Bill Landers. The two new coaches hailed from the S.
A blow out victory over long time foe, Bishop Ludden
created the makings of a roll. Junior Billy Snow threw the
discus 120’, while senior race-walker Rich O ’Neill clocked
a 7:08 mile. The highlight of the meet came when Quarter-
miler, Billy Owens overcame a two hundred meter deficit
to break the tape for the win.
What contributed the icing to successful season was
the early May encounter against the Corcoran Cougars.

The 36 man squad opened with style with a lop sided
102-48 victory over Henninger on the brand new tartan
Sunnycrest track. The Auburn club fell next by a 48 point
margin on CBA’s track.
