Swimming Takes Off
Four years ago, CBA formed a combined varsity swim team
with J-D. The team never experienced great participation or
success until this season. One third of the fifteen man team
now comes from CBA, and the team compiled a winning record
o f
7-5. At the
beginning
o f the
season, optimism
was low.
However, as the season progressed and wins started to accu
mulate, confidence grew quickly. We won our last four regular
season meets and qualified all our swimmers for Sectionals.
Once in Sectionals, the team did well, led by strong individual
performances from my brotherJim McGowan and me. We are
looking forward to growing in numbers and having more suc
cess next season.
Each swimmer has a
specific lane they must
stay in during the com
petition. The Brothers
were sometimes placed
in lane two, but their
performance was rarely
less than number one.
