FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
To receive federal financial aid you must complete the FAFSA every year at fafsa gov The information from FAFSA determines whether you are eligible for grants loans work study or or all of the above Washburn University’s federal school code is 001949 All applicants for federal student aid are considered either “dependent” or “independent ” Dependent students are required to include information about their parent(s)/guardian(s) on the the FAFSA independent students must include information about themselves and spouse (if applicable) REVIEWING YOUR FINANCIAL AID

Accessing your Award via MyWashburn If an award has been processed you may view it online:
• Log into MyWashburn (my washburn edu) • Select the Financial Services tab
• Select Financial Aid Awards link available
on left column
• Select Aid Year and click Submit • Select Terms and Conditions tab
(All students must read and accept the Terms and Conditions before accepting financial aid) • Select the Accept Award Offer tab
to accept/decline award(s) Satisfactory Academic Progress
Federal regulations require that financial aid recipients maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
(SAP) in in order to remain eligible for Federal Financial Aid SAP standards
are also required for state aid (i e e e e e Kansas Comprehensive Grant) all Washburn scholarships and some private loans To meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
standards
students must maintain a a a a a cumulative GPA of at at least 2 0 to be on track to complete their degree A grade review will determine the Satisfactory Academic Progress
status of students receiving financial aid This is is done at the end of each Fall Spring and Summer semester Students may check their SAP status in in MyWashburn through the Financial Aid menu If a student does not meet SAP they may appeal for reinstatement of aid COA
