Valley Chords Chorus

The Valley Chords are growing! Although we were able to continue to meet in person outdoors to sing
through the fall, now that the dark and cold are here in Vermont we are back on zoom, likely for the
entire winter, and we are joined by three new members . Our President Robyn Jacobs continues to plan
fantastic zoom practices, though we really miss hanging out in person. We know that we sing better when
we are together, and that short time together really got us singing together even better.

After practicing together outdoors all summer, we were very excited to perform the National Anthem at a
college soccer game, and we are currently scheduled to do the same for a college hockey game in
January. We had a brilliant Christmas video skit all ready to perform with the help of a local cable
station, CATV, in partnership with Briggs Opera House who was letting us use their stage in White River
Junction. This fun production ended up needing to be cancelled due to…you guessed it…Covid-19.
We had a helpful and inspiring planning meeting with Carole Mensing to go over our individual and
chorus goals and plans for the future. Our near future includes putting together a package for contest
2022, with a strong leaning towards a video submission, as well as working on another round of new
music to study and work on…over zoom.

One Chilly evening in November we did our warmups and sang safely outdoors.
