Broome High School
Broome High School and Daniel Morgan
Technology Center students participated in a
mini job fair on November 14. Many students
completed applications for part-time jobs at
NCG movie theater, Chick-Fil-A, Papa John’s
Pizza, FedEx, Panera Bread, Wal-Mart and
Bojangles. As an added bonus, our students
learned that many of these companies offer
college scholarships to their employees.
Local Senior Citizens kicked off the holiday season by attending a special Christmas
Concert in the District Three Community Auditorium. Broome High School’s chorus, band,
and AFJROTC students helped host this special event.
Founders Federal Credit Union recently
brought their Mad City Money Program to
Broome High School. Students were given a
scenario of what kind of job they had and
salary. They had to go around the “city” and
pay their bills and put savings in the credit
union. Some students even had to make
adjustments for breakdown of their cars and
appliances, sick babies, etc., just like real
life. It was a great reality check for their future
finances!
The varsity girls’ basketball team, at Broome High School,
is participating in a sports nutrition program with Chartwells
Schools Dining Services. Athletes are learning the benefits
of a well-planned nutrition strategy through dietitian-led
presentations and samplings with the student body.
