students. DMTC plans to debut the video during
the Fall Advisory Dinner. Theresa Perry, industrial
relations coordinator, has been involved
coordinating the production with Eric.

District News

Staff recognitions at the recent Board of Trustees meeting included: Mary Camp – a
Pacolet Elementary School teacher, is a DonorsChoose grant recipient for her
project: “Wobble While You Work”; and, Tonya McCullough – a Clifdale Elementary
School teacher, is a DonorsChoose grant recipient for three projects: “Teaching
About Tolerance to Third Graders”, “Help Keeping a Clean Classroom” and “A
Listening Center for My Third Graders”. Tonya also had three proposals for
presentation accepted for the 2017 South Carolina Council of Teachers of
Mathematics Fall Conference. Topics include: Using Minecraft to Teach Area,
Perimeter, and Volume; Math Workshop: It’s Not Just For Lower Grades; and Building
a Gingerbread Village in Math Class. Also recognized were new staff for the 2017-
2018 school year.
