As a network education portfolio, our work, decisions, and directions will be guided by
the direction of the organization, and our goal is to support the overall performance of
the organization. We believe that anyone can be a teacher or a learner depending on
context, so reference to learners is the broadest possible, inclusive of patients,
families, community partners, students, staff, physicians, leaders and anyone else in
the community of our organization that has a learning need. We recognize that
learning comes in many forms – mandatory, self-directed, collaborative, in-classroom,
in-situ, distance, among others – and all reference to learning in our principles,
opportunities and objectives and future work takes the most broad view of learning.
