NEW BRAUNFELS
New Braunfels is located northeast of San Antonio, Texas and is known for the Comal and Guada-
lupe rivers that wind past leafy attractions like Landa Park and Cypress Bend. Original 1800s German
buildings, like Gruene Hall, are preserved in the Gruene Historic District. To the west, walkways snake
through underground limestone caves at Natural Bridge Caverns. See below for a brief list of some of the
top attractions in New Braunfels.
SCHLITTERBAHN
Schlitterbahn offers over 70 acres of family fun,
thrilling adventure and relaxation. This family-
owned and operated company opened its first park
in 1979 and continues to open every summer.
LANDA PARK
Landa Park offers picnic facilities under the shade GRUENE GENERAL STORE
of giant, ancient oak trees. In addition, the 51-
acre riverside paradise includes a miniature train,
nature trails, mini-golf, paddle boats and more.
GRUENE HISTORIC DISTRICT
Gruene Historic District is located within the city limits of
New Braunfels and has been added to the National Register
of Historic Places. The district’s attractions include live
music at Gruene Hall, the Gristmill Restaurant and
shopping, as well as numerous bed and breakfasts.
ANIMAL WORLD & SNAKE FARM ZOO
See all sorts of exotic animals from monkeys and lemurs to
slithery snakes and ferocious jaguars at Animal World and
Snake Farm Zoo. Founded in 1967, this roadside destination
on IH-35 offers visitors an intimate, up-close and personal
experience with wildlife.
CIRCLE ARTS THEATRE
Circle Arts Theatre in historic Landa Park was
founded in 1968 and is a delight to audiences of
all ages with its numerous plays and performances.
The theatre is dedicated to the pursuit of
excellence in the performing arts and puts on a
variety of shows each year.
