has set up within the church and homes of the saints. The man is
commanded to have the authority in both the home and the
church. The man is also placed with the grave responsibilities
that come with that position of authority. If we are to execute the
things of God in an orderly and decent manner, we must first
understand the proper definition of authority and what that
authority entails. Authority is the essence of leadership. Those
chosen to lead must do so with logic, and not emotion. A true
leader is one who SERVES those who are under his leadership,
an example that Christ Himself displayed wonderfully during
His ministry. One cannot possibly serve properly unless he has
an UNCONDITIONAL love for those he leads.
Authority/Leadership is NOT about “being the boss,” it is about
serving the brethren with the heart and mind of Christ. This is
why, although Eve sinned before Adam, it is Adam who is
discredited with committing sin that would plunge all of
mankind into the need for a Savior. Adam was responsible for
Eve’s sin, and not the other way around. The man of God who
leads a congregation is entrusted with the responsibility to lead
his flock as a Shepard watches over his sheep. If the wolves
(false prophets) come in and scatter the sheep, causing them to
sin, it is the Shepard that will be held accountable for the sheep
being scattered, and if any are lost, their blood will be on the
hands of that Shepard. This does not in any way negate the sin’s
of those who do sin (follow false doctrine), but rather ADDS the
responsibility and judgment to the leader as well. If we can
