Tyndale enabled the English Bible to be readily available and wrote theology in  the
              language of ordinary people.


       5)     Jan Comenius – Christian Translator
              1592 – 1688

              Comenius showed us that all through history God has prompted men and women with the

              vision of Christian Education.

       6)     John Bunyan – ‘The Tinker of Bedford’
              1628 – 1688


              The study of John Bunyan, author of ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’ and ‘Grace Abounding’ focussed
              on suffering as part of our Faith.


       7)     The Anabaptists – ‘The Logical Fruit of the Reformation’

              This was of special interest as one of our OCC churches was founded by Anabaptists.
              The study showed what we owe the Baptists.


       8)     John Wesley
              1703 – 1791

              Famous Evangelist preacher and Founder of Methodism.


       9)     Count Von Zinzendorf and the Moravian Movement
              1700 – 1760


              This study focuses on the prayer and world mission of the Moravians. One of the Elders
              at Basingstoke Community Church, Ron Trudinger, is a descendant of the Moravians and
              came to speak to us.


       10)    Dietrich Bonhoeffer
              1906 – 1945

              Theologian and teacher of Discipleship in Hitler’s Germany.



       Obviously many other famous men and women have left a legacy to us. Time caused us to be
       selective and so we did not cover Whitfield, Wilberforce, Shaftsbury, C.S.Lewis or many

       others. We ended our series by asking our students to write from memory one sentence about
       each character and to say who impressed them most  personally. They also wrote down any
