                  A connective links ideas in, and between, sentences.

        Select some ‘time connectives’ from the box to put into the story of

             Paul’s shipwreck (Acts 27). You may find other connectives to use.



                       Next, Later, Suddenly, Finally, Meanwhile, Now, Then, Eventually



        Paul and some other prisoners set sail for Italy.  _____________ they landed at


        Sidon followed by Cyprus, Crete and Cauda.  _____________the ship was caught in



        a storm and everyone was very frightened. They had to throw the cargo


        overboard to lighten the ship. ___________________ the ship’s tackle had to be


        thrown overboard. __________________ Paul tried to encourage the prisoners to


        trust God. For fourteen days they remained on the ship. _______________ the


        grain had to be thrown into the sea to further lighten the boat. Thankfully, they



        saw land. _________they left the ship to go ashore on the island of Malta.  God


        saved them!
