First to 30 em A game for 2 players

You need: Cuisenaire Rods; a 30 cm ruler each; dice 1- 6

D Decide who goes first, then take it in turns to throw the dice.

D If you throw 3, you win a 3 cm rod and place it
along the edge of your ruler.

D On each go, add another rod of the correct length.

D To get out, you need to win a rod of the correct length
to reach the 30 cm mark on your ruler exactly.

o The first player to get out wins the game.
D Play the game more than once, then think of new rules to try.

30 em lengths A puzzle for 2 people

You need: Cuisenaire Rods; a 30 cm ruler

[IJ Find different ways of using 6 rods each time to make lengths
of 30 cm so that:

a each rod is a different colour;
b each rod is the same colour;
c 3 rods are one colour and 3 are a second colour;
d 4 rods are one colour and 2 are a second colour;
e 5 rods are the same colour and 1 is a second colour.
