Probability line scissors, glue pen,
                                                                             RM 87

A probability line can be used to show how likely an event is to happen.
It is always numbered from 0 to 1.

Q-* —— less and less likely to happen ___ 1 __ more and more likely to happen — ^ -|
         I 1 1
       impossible even chance certain

Cut out the 12 statement cards on RM87.

On a long strip of paper, make a probability number line
             like the one shown below.

Decide where on the scale is the most sensible place to put the statements.

                                                           We've put this statement
                                                              very near 0 because
can glue the cards down it's very unlikely to happen.
and draw lines to where you
think they best /it on the line.

                                             even chance

Make cards to put at these positions on the scale.
