9.3.5. Talent management interventions in the Library
The Unisa Library launched an in-house training programme called the Mentorship Programme for Unisa Library staff members during 2019. Staff members who participated in the programme are:
- Ms. Pearl Dlamini – Archive Section
- Ms. Precious Mahlangu – Archive Section
- Ms. Faith Modiba – Finance Department
- Mr. Mashudu Selowa – Finance Department
- Ms. Ruth Molapise – Information Search Librarians
9.3.6. New staff members welcomed to the Unisa Library in 2019 and staff relocations
We welcomed Ms Nomonde Maqubela, Deputy Director: Collection Development, and Mr Mogua Maja, Manager: Request and Delivery Services.
Ms. Nomonde Maqubela previous position before joining the Directorate: Information Resources Content Management, was Manager of Unisa Library Services: KwaZulu-Natal Region. Mr. Mogua Maja was previously in the Library Procurement Services at the Department of Library and Information Services at the Muckleneuk campus.
Mr. Njabulo Makhathini was appointed as Branch Librarian at Unisa Durban Library from May 2019.
Mr. Z.D. Mantewu was successfully transferred from East London to staff the new Port Elizabeth branch library.
Three colleagues (Mr. Sam Barthes, Mr. Wayne Shabangu, and Ms. Sam Makurube), from the Johannesburg Regional Library were temporarily relocated to the Science Library from October 2019. This provided much needed additional capacity and support to the Science Library.
