VETcpd - Welcome Welcome to VETcpd!
Welcome to Issue 4,VetCPD Journal 2020! I think it would be an understatement to say it hasn’t been the year we would have planned for! With pretty much all face to face CPD off the menu since the pandemic struck, we have been pleased to step in with our online CPD offerings, be it the online exams associated with VetCPD Journal, or our wide range ofTutored Online courses. We too have had our share of
disappointment – having to cancel our September Congress this year – though we are cautiously optimistic that things may be back to normal by September 2021 – but only time will tell.So – hope you enjoy this issue ofVetCPD journal and just to add we have a really exciting range of articles planned for 2021.
Issue 4 highlights
This issue kicks off with an article on atrial fibrillation in dogs and we welcome Brigite Pedro (who is currently doing a PhD in atrial fibrillation) together with João Neves and Chris Linney. If this whets your appetite for more - why not sign up to
our Online Cardiology course in May 2021? Moving on to dermatology, we welcome Natalie Barnard with an article on the management of canine otitis externa. Keen to learn more? Book our Online Dermatology course in February 2021.Turing to rabbits, this issue sees the welcome return of Elisabetta Mancinell looking at the neurologic rabbit. Plus – we have a rabbit course in February 2021 if you would like to learn more. Next up we welcome Kerry Peak and David Walker with an article on canine hypoadrenocorticism – a subject that is often the Holy Grail of diagnostic challenges! Again – we also have an Online Endocrinology course running in April 2021.Turning to parasitology – Ian Wright asks if monthly treatment of cats and dogs for worms
and routine flea treatment is essential? Finally – moving on to soft tissue surgery
– we welcome Alison Moores with an article on soft tissue sarcomas in dogs.

VetCPD Tutored Online CPD Courses – for an in-depth look
Round off your CPD with a more in-depth look at some of the topics covered in the journal! We are lucky enough to have many of our journal authors also running the online courses. The courses run over a three week period, and take around eight hours to complete. There are webinars, downloadable course notes and clinical cases to work through, plus a clinical forum where questions and answers are posted and where delegates have access to the instructor for the duration of the course. This always generates some lively discussions and the idea is that no one should leave a course with any unanswered questions! At the end of the course there is a final exam plus a Certificate of Completion for your CPD records.
