An insight from leading cinematographers on their knowledge and experience in shooting drama series with the VariCam line-up
We will be joined by Kelvin Richard, who is an experienced BAFTA nominated Director of Photography. He
has worked on numerous TV dramas, feature lms, factual entertainment and music productions. Kelvin has photographed many successful and acclaimed productions, each with their own creative and technical challenges. His TV drama credits include BAFTA nominated Postcode and the award-winning documentary The Stephen Lawrence Story (Director/Cameraman). Most recently, Kelvin has been working on the new CBeebies children’s series, Apple Tree House, which was shot on the VariCam 35. Kelvin will discuss his experiences on using the camera for both the rst and second series of the show.

Most recently, Kelvin has been working on the new CBeebies children’s series, Apple Tree House, and previously on the BAFTA nominated CBBC series Hetty Feather, as well as exclusive broadcast and online material.
With years of wide-ranging experience in lighting and operating single camera, in addition to organising multi camera set ups, Kelvin has lmed in over in over 20 countries with local and UK crews. Kelvin has had the privilege of being a BAFTA judge: Photography – Factual and Production Design for Drama.
