Lisa was born and bred in Leeds, West Yorkshire and that is where she lives and works
to this day. Having worked
for a Leeds-based factual TV company, her big break came when she went to work as
Kay Mellor’s personal assistant. Six months later she secured her  rst TV writing commission on ITV’s hit show Fat Friends. She was shortlisted for a BAFTA Best New Writer award for her episode. Her other credits include Emmerdale, New Tricks, Waterloo Road, Robin Hood and Midsomer Murders. She is currently working on C4’s Ackley Bridge and hasseveralTVprojectsindevelopment.Lisaisan active member of the Royal Television Society and is Deputy Chair of the Writers’ Guild.
Manpreet Dosanjh

Manpreet began her career at the BBC in radio drama before moving to Eastenders where she worked as script editor and producer across storylines, such as the arrival of the Carter family and Who Killed
Lucy Beale?, concluding her tenure by producing the 30th Anniversary Live Week episodes. In 2015, Manpreet joined ITV Studios working on acclaimed crime series Vera, before joining the C4 drama commissioning team as commissioning editor of Hollyoaks later that year. Currently, Manpreet is working across a number of C4 dramas including the second series of Ackley Bridge, which was Channel 4’s  rst 8pm drama in 13 years and its highest rating commission for 10 to 15-year-olds this year, as well as new Baghdad Central and Pure.

There is a widely-held perception that Net ix and Amazon, and big budget shows like Game of Thrones, have changed audience expectations when it comes to TV drama. To what extent is this true, how are British broadcasters and producers responding to this challenge and where does UK drama go from here?
This panel will also include a discussion on diversity, where the new drama ideas will come from, and the impact of Brexit on high-end drama.

Martin joined Kudos as

from Warner Bros. Television where he was Commercial Director of the UK television production group. At Kudos Martin oversees all production,
 nance, commercial, business affairs and operational functions of the company, as well
as the Kudos business strategy. He is expert in
the  nancing and structuring of premium drama series with shows such as Tin Star (Sky Atlantic/ Amazon), Troy (BBC/Net ix), Humans (C4/AMC) and Gunpowder (BBC/HBO) having been delivered under his stewardship. Previously, Martin was a partner in a leading Entertainment Law practice.
Frith Tiplady was the co-MD of Tiger Aspect drama. Since joining the company as Head of Production in 2006, Frith’s impressive list of credits has included Peaky Blinders (BBC2), Fortitude (SKY Atlantic) and
the BAFTA-nominated Ripper Street (BBC 1).
Other programmes include The A Word (BBC/ Sundance), My Mad Fat Diary (E4), Robin Hood
(BBC 1/ BBC America), Secret Diary of a Call Girl (ITV2/ Showtime), The Deep (BBC1), Blood & Oil (BBC 2), The Boys are Back (feature  lm) and the BAFTA-winning single  lms; Marvellous (BBC 2) and White Girl (BBC 2). Frith sits on the board of The Production Guild of Great Britain and is a member of Creative Skillset’s High-End TV Skills Council.
